Main Altar with Orthodox iconostasis in the Basilica of the Nativity. The Byzantine Building is still standing from before 500 AD. While the Persians destroyed most of the Christian churches built before then, they spared this one, recognizing their culture and race in icons depicting the three kings.

Luke 2: 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem: because he was of the house and family of David, 5 To be enrolled with Mary his espoused wife, who was with child.
